Synopsis:
Chang-su, who has been in Vietnam for the last three years, returned home and finds work as a body-scrubber in the public bathhouse. He comes across Yeong-ja at the police station. He had fallen in love with her when he first saw her at his boss’ home where she was housemaid. He promised to see her again and went to Vietnam. In the meantime, she was raped by the employer’s son, forced out, and learned sewing from Chun-ja. The salary was so small that she became a barmaid, but she can’t adapt to all her jobs. She then gets a job as a bus conductor but unfortunately loses her arm in a car accident. Frustrated, Yeong-ja attempts suicide but fails and at last she enters prostitution.
